Hello. My name is Julie Jarvis and I have been designing, making and selling sterling silver jewellery for approximately 10 years.

My jewellery is for sale at various locations in Hampshire and I'm frequently to be found at local craft fayres and markets around the region with my BE-JUL stand.

I'm now able to offer you the opportunity to learn this creative and fulfilling craft at my home studio in Lee-On-the-Solent, Hampshire, on the South coast of England. Learn How to Design and Make Your Own Jewellery

If you would like to learn how to design and make your own jewellery then why not enrol on one of my courses run from The Garden Studio. Here I have the tools and facilities you will need, along with my personal tuition, to guide you through the stages of jewellery making. I am fully insured and you are very welcome to visit my studio and see the facilities prior to making a booking - just give me a call.

Courses can be tailored to individual requirements from single-day 'Experience/Beginner' courses to more advanced 'Intermediate' courses where you will be able to create jewellery to your own designs.

Courses are usually run as a 1-to-1 session, so you will have my full attention and gain the maximum possible out of the day. However, if you would like to bring a friend or partner then my small studio will be able to accommodate you both - and your friend will only pay HALF PRICE!

Experience Day/Beginner's Course (6hrs)

This course (cost £50 inclusive of all consumables) is intended for complete beginners who have always wanted to make a piece of silver jewellery. You will learn the basic processes including workshop safety, sawing, filing, soldering, sanding and polishing. During the day you will make a simple sterling silver ring, which is yours to keep. After completing this course, or a similar course elsewhere, you will be able to advance to the Intermediate course.

Intermediate Course - Module 1 (3hrs)

This course (cost £45 inclusive of all consumables) is intended for those who have completed a beginners course, such as the one described above, and who are familiar with handling tools safely and effectively. This 2-module course allows us more time to design and create your own piece of unique jewellery. In Module 1 we will discuss your ideas to ensure you choose a design that can be completed by the end of Module 2. Module 1 can usually be taken on any morning or afternoon, provided there is a slot available.

Intermediate Course - Module 2 (3hrs)

This course (cost £45 inclusive of all consumables) is for those who have already completed Module 1 of the Intermediate Course and who have designed their piece of jewellery and have begun to make it. In Module 2 you will complete the creation of your jewellery. Module 2 can usually be taken on any morning or afternoon, provided there is a slot available. You also have the option to take this module in the afternoon following your Module 1 course to enable you to complete your finished item the same day.

If you book both modules 1 and 2 together, the total cost will be £70 giving you a saving of £20.

Master Jewellery Making - 6 weeks (3hrs per week)

For those of you who want to achieve a little more, this 6 week course will allow you the time to create several items (perhaps a matching set) of jewellery. This course (cost £150 including all consumables) is suitable for either complete beginners or those with previous experience who want to dedicate some time to this rewarding hobby.

Sterling silver sheet of various guages and sterling silver wire in various sizes will be available to purchase, on the day of your course, at trade prices.

BE-JUL also offers a range of starter kits enabling you to continue your new hobby at home.

BE-JUL gift vouchers make a unique gift for any occasion, and in my experience are always exceptionally well received. They are available from as little as £20 and can be used as full or part payment for any course or items of jewellery from my individually designed range.

Step 2. Complete an Enrolment Form and pop it in the post, together with your non-refundable deposit of £10 to secure your place.

Step 3. Pay the balance when you attend your first workshop.
